Antioch is home to all those pursuing a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. We were founded in 1853 as a Disciples of Christ ministry by Moses Lard in Kansas City, Missouri.
We have been in the same location since then and our original building stands and is used for special occasions to this day. We are an inter-denominational, Christian church which means we are not governed by an outside organization but rather our own elders. About 175 people worship at Antioch each weekend.
The Antioch Church cross graphically represents what we as a congregation endeavor to be in and for the community:
- The four arrows pointing inward symbolize the many different "directions" from which people may be drawn to our fellowship, both geographically and theologically, each of them bringing their unique experience of Christ to our unified worship, witness, and work;
- The four arrows pointing outward symbolize the many expressions or extensions of our resulting mutual ministry and mission in Jesus' name.
